Complete the 2022 Risk Self-Assessment by February 11

In December, several risk self-assessments became available for entities covered by the Municipal Association’s Risk Management Services to complete. These include the SC Municipal Insurance Trust’s assessment, the SC Municipal Insurance and Risk Financing Fund’s assessment and the Law Enforcement Risk Assessment.

The SCMIT Risk Self-Assessment has several new topics for members to address in their responses:

• Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards
  
• Emergency action planning
  
• Hazard communication
  
• Control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout)
  
• Respirable crystalline silica exposure

As members complete their Risk Self-Assessment, the process will identify areas of opportunity where they can improve their safety practices. There are sample policies and procedures, as well as other resources, to help with this, available through www.masc.sc after the member logs in.
