Internal Auditor, City of Charleston
Audits records of departments and interviews employees to provide reasonable assurance of compliance with policies, procedures, grants, laws, codes, and regulations.
Conducts investigations and prepares written documentation in response to inquiries and complaints.
Defines problems and analyzes financial data, utilizing various statistical techniques, and applying concepts to assist in formulating conclusions and developing recommendations and solutions.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in accounting, auditing or a related field; and two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience must include two years experience in public accounting. Knowledge of and application of GAAP and the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Code of Ethics. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software. Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of TeamMate auditing software or similar.
