Equipment Operator I (second shift), City of West Columbia
Operates twin –axle vehicles, mowers, blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, edgers, and hedgers. Mows or edges lawns using power equipment. Cares for established beds and lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, trimming, edging, etc. Uses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. Prunes or trims trees, shrubs, hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
Gathers and removes litter. Maintains and repairs tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches using power tools. Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features.
Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold for extended periods of time. Must be able to easily pick or lift weights up to 50 lbs.
A minimum of two years experience in landscaping, construction, and equipment operation.
Must have a valid SC driver’s license with no recent major violations.
Must be physically able to perform the required manual labor.
