Job Duties

Monitors Electronic Fund Transfers daily to accurately record revenue account code. Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations. Examines Town’s bank accounts daily and resolves any issues. Receives, and maintains cash collection batch reports for use in the bank reconciliation process. Reviews and posts payroll tax liabilities and other payroll deduction payments. Manages Off duty public safety officer billing, grants reimbursements, and federal and state financial compliance reports.

Receives and records Municipal Court revenue and expenses. Administers accounts receivables. Assists with accounts payable processes. Prepares journal entries. Compiles and analyzes financial data and prepares related reports; prepares analysis of accounts as requested.

Assists with the preparation for and coordination of the audit process; assists with year-end closings. Assists with tracking and managing assets in the software system. Assists with budget preparations and forecasts. Reviews deposits for accuracy in the absence of the Business Services Manager. Performs related duties.

Qualifications

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines. Knowledge of auditing principles. Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, town ordinances, and department policies and procedures. Knowledge of IRS guidelines. Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

Pay Info
Pay is commensurate with knowledge and experience.
