Utility Worker, Town of Monetta
Reads water meters and records volume used by residential and commercial consumers: Inspects meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections. Repair the water meter at the meter. Calibrate and install water meters. Replace broken or damaged water meters. Pump out meter pits. Perform inspections of backflow devices. Connect and disconnect water services. Completes water analysis reports and documents chlorine levels daily. Provides 24-hour emergency coverage as required.
Locates water mains, valves, hydrants, services, and leaks in the field using electronic and mechanical detection equipment for PUPS, SCDOT, and other utilities. Uses appropriate protective equipment and observes safe operation of vehicle and equipment. Operates town-owned vehicles. Uses a tractor with a backhoe to dig holes for installing and/or repairing lines. Ensures truck and equipment are kept in proper working and operating condition.
Must provide a South Carolina Driver's License with a 10-year driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test.
