Staff Associate for Main Street South Carolina, Municipal Association of SC
Provides high-level administrative support to the Main Street SC Manager, collaborates with MASC Education and Training staff and acts as a secondary contact/liaison for Main Street SC. Collaborates with the Main Street SC Manager on the development of programming and strategic initiatives and direction, including educational and technical assistance priorities and partnership opportunities.
Coordinates and provides guidance in the areas of program assessments, annual renewals, the reporting of key statistics to the National Main Street Center and manages reinvestment reporting. Prepares and delivers professional presentations, facilitates strategic planning sessions, creates work plans, develops programs, conducts training and delivers technical assistance. Offers instruction to members in organizational development, historic preservation, volunteer development, marketing and promotional activities, including social media and information resources.
Travels regularly to perform the duties of this position and to attend conferences, training, workshops, meetings, etc., to maintain knowledge of current issues, trends and technology affecting the subject matter of Main Street SC. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, urban planning, historic preservation, community development, economic development or a closely related field. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. A Certified Economic Development Finance Professional designation is beneficial.
Five years of downtown development, community development, economic development experience or non-profit administration. Working knowledge of the National Main Street Program and the Four Point Approach is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Windows-based computer software including MS Office Suite, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, and graphics programs; Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving, public speaking/presentation, time management and customer service skills.
