Senior Project Engineer, Town of Hilton Head Island
The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Projects Engineer to manage the planning, designing, and construction of public infrastructure projects focusing on roads, pathways and road rights-of-way.
What You Will Do: Design & manage the planning, design, permitting & construction of Transportation projects. Prepare requests for proposals & qualifications, scopes of work, & cost estimates. Prepare engineering analyses, technical reports, data sets, inventories, cost estimates, maintenance logs, etc. Manage the Transportation survey data & ACAD files, as well as CADD standards & protocols for surveying and design of Town projects. Manage on-call contracts for professional & maintenance/construction services. Manage construction of transportation capital & maintenance projects
Manage transportation related programs such as dirt road acquisition and paving. Manage Dirt Road Program. Develop, manage, and maintain Pathway Asset Management program. Provide coordination with utility companies on Town projects and utility projects to mitigate potential conflicts, evaluate design options, minimize impacts and reduce costs. Assist in the acquisition of land, easements, and rights of way, defining limits, ordering plats, working with the Town Attorney’s office and communicating with property owners.
Bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering or a closely related field. A minimum of eight years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience. South Carolina Professional Engineering License and/or Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector (SCDES) Certfiication *if does not currently hold any of these, must have ability to obtain either within six months from date of hire. Valid driver's license. May require varied work schedule.
