Job Duties

Position Summary: The position administers/oversees the City’s hospitality and accommodations tax programs and the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee.

Essential Job Functions: Administer, collect, monitor, and process hospitality and accommodations tax payments; prepare corresponding reports. Conduct audits to verify hospitality and accommodations tax collections from applicable businesses. Administer procedures relating to the allocation of accommodations tax revenue in accordance with state law, including the establishment and oversight of an accommodations tax advisory committee. Administer and track an annual program for the application and allocation of state accommodations tax funds for tourism-related expenditures.

Present the recommendations of the accommodations tax advisory committee at City Council meetings. Assist businesses, agencies, and citizens in person, on the telephone, and by e-mail with questions and discussions relating to hospitality and accommodations tax requirements and programs for tourism-related expenditures. Process daily deposits and balances collections with the fund ledger in accordance with the Finance Department. Generate monthly and annual statistical reports on hospitality and accommodations tax revenue collections and programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business administration, accounting, public administration, grant administration and/or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, political science, public administration, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in government or non-profit administration; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Info
$45,000 to $50,000 annually
