Job Duties

Provides computer technical support to users with troubleshooting and solving application problems, designing and maintaining software such as databases, spreadsheets, and reports. Operates a variety of equipment such as network hardware, personal computer, servers, printers, telecommunication devices, etc. Serves as technical consultant for staff in determining computer-related needs including hardware and software, networking capability and other special system configurations. Supports mobile telephones and tablets; manages account plans and orders cellphones and tablets.

Monitors and verifies city cameras are working properly. Interacts and communicates with organizations, management and staff employees, software/hardware vendors, consultants, and the general public. Prepares and/or processes various records and reports such as requisition entries, special reports, data files and annual reports/surveys. Provides website support with the creation and production of public content, reports, and dashboards.

Refers to electronic documents, Internet websites, computer software and documentation of city network diagram, network computing, technology references and resources, policy and procedure manuals, codes/laws/regulations, publications and reference texts, etc. Receives and/or reviews records and reports such as billing invoices, helpdesk work orders, city budget and expenditure reports. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management or related field and four (4) years of experience in a computer related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Must have a valid state issued driver’s license.
