Finance Director, City of Gaffney
Oversees the efficient management of the Finance Department, including accounting and financial planning. Major duties will include assisting the City Administrator with preparing annual budget and completing various reports related to the city’s financial status.
Directs the receiving, review, and processing of invoices, payroll, and the miscellaneous accounts receivable. Ensures the administration of the Business License, Hospitality Tax, and Accommodations Tax ordinances.
Oversees the efficient management of the Finance Department. Performs such supervisory duties as instructing, assigning, planning and reviewing work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; and allocating personnel.
Must have considerable experience in municipal budgetary planning, fund accounting, and debt management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Five years of progressively responsible experience in administrating finances in a government setting and ten years accounting experience.
