Finance Director, Town of Fort Mill
• Provides advice and guidance to the Town Administration on finance-related matters. • Directs the investment and management of various town funds. • Administers all financial policies, transactions, and activities upon the approval of the Council and as directed by the Town Administration. • Formulates and supervises accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records. • Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines staff. • Produces monthly financial statements.
• Monitors the efficiency and accuracy of the financial management systems; troubleshoots issues as necessary. • Assists with the development of the annual budget. • Maintains records of fixed assets. • Prepares quarterly state and federal payroll tax returns. • Reviews and approves journal entry batches and bank reconciliations.
• Oversees payroll and accounts payable processes. • Assists with grant administration. • Oversees the financial monitoring of capital projects expenditures. • Is the staff lead on audit coordination and completion in conjunction with the Town’s contracted auditors • Performs related duties.
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require ten years of related experience.
• Ability to be bonded.
