Emergency Vehicle Technician, City of Greer
Installing equipment such as: radios, video systems, radars, wireless modems, center consoles, fabricated metal components, lights, sirens, speakers, antennas, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, K-9 Cages, other electrical components and equipment. Custom installation of automotive products including public safety warning equipment , lighting, upgraded power supplies and inverters in police, fire, and other public safety vehicles.
Interpret and create schematics. Possess fabrication skills; establish proper workflow based on assigned tasks; Drilling and cutting to properly mount equipment and components in or on vehicles; Fabricate brackets from aluminum and other material to install/mount equipment; Develop wiring routes throughout the vehicle; Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment.
Follow verbal and written instructions, drawings and schematics for installation of components. Assemble and Reassemble the interior and exterior components required for up fitting equipment on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUV’s and trucks.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
One to three years of experience or training in automotive/electrical installation and/or repair. Must have own tools and toolbox.
Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license and able to pass drug screen and criminal/credit background check.
