Director of Information Technology, Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works
Monitors the operations of the Information Technology Network System (ITNS) and related systems and programming; ensures proper operation on a daily basis; determines the need for enhancements, improvements, and changes to the system and related programming; coordinates with senior management for upgrades, changes, and troubleshooting issues. Assists in establishing all information technology internal and external policies and procedures that support the implementation of strategies set by senior management.
Instructs, assigns, and reviews work of assigned subordinate technical staff; maintains standards through the effective coordination of activities; allocates personnel; acts on employee problems; provides recommendations regarding employee selection, transfer, promotion, discipline and termination. Provides input into the planning, designing, and installation of all technology equipment including LAN/WAN networks, computers, servers, cyber security, fax systems, physical security systems, SCADA/RTU systems, email, web pages, voice mail, and GIS systems.
Leads IT department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources. Develops and revises standard operational procedures that follow the most current and best technology practices.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field with a minimum of six years progressively supervisory and technical experience.
Technical experience managing networks with knowledge of Windows and Linux Servers, client/server environments, network systems operations, cyber-security, physical security, infrastructure, computer hardware/software applications, PLCs, local and wide area networks, email, internet use, and SCADA systems.
This is not a remote job. The successful candidate should be available during normal business hours and require an on-call rotation for departments who work 24/7.
