Customer Service Representative, City of Camden
Coordinates utility accounts receivable which involves receiving payments for utility accounts, verifying information, preparing receipts for bills, maintaining cash drawer, balancing daily, and preparing payments for deposit.
Handles customer inquiries and complaints, and processes/prepares work orders for same; accesses customer information as needed to assist; sets up payment plans as needed. Reviews pre-bill edits: makes changes to the readings as needed.
Collects funds from other departments such as the Police Department, Archives, City Lot, Tennis Center, and Building Inspector’s office. Performs general clerical duties such as answering telephones, assisting other customer service representatives as needed, processing mail and distributing, and maintaining filing system.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computer, telephone, calculator, copier, etc. Must be physically able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Position involves standing for periods as well as sedentary work. May involve reaching and stooping. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to twenty-five pounds.
Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things.
Requires the ability to read a variety of documents and reports. Requires the ability to prepare documents and reports using the proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar. Requires the ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisor and the general public, etc. with poise, voice control and confidence.
