Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; additional hours as scheduled.
Job Duties

Conducts general session preliminary hearings and traffic court trials which involves obtaining all dockets prior to court, signing forfeiture tickets and dockets and completing paperwork to ensure proper follow up. Functions as cashier in receiving and accounting for monies received as fines; schedules course of payments as required; prepares daily deposit reports and monthly disbursement reports. Functions as receptionist in handling of walk-in traffic and phone calls; assists the public in answering questions; provides information to defendants, witnesses, victims, attorneys, jurors and City employees; distributes department mail. Assists outside agencies in judicial cases including Greenville/Spartanburg Detention, judicial court agencies, law enforcement divisions, City Attorney, other Clerk of Court offices, Highway Department, Probation and Parole, Pretrial Interventions, SC Court Administration, etc. Notifies and processes jurors in order to complete juror selection. Performs various general administrative duties including issuing subpoenas, typing and mailing general office correspondence, attending meetings and conferences, coordinating language interpreters. Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits a variety of reports and documents including pretrial notices, money orders, invoices, appeal requests, subpoenas, tickets, various lists and logs, etc.

Qualifications

Associates degree in criminal justice, law or related field with a minimum of two years’ experience in courts, law enforcement or related area or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Pay Info
Salary: Minimum salary $41,304; dependent on experience.
